NATIONAL HISTORY DAY CONTEST

National History Day (NHD)

National History Day (NHD)

The Society for History Education is proud to feature spectacular scholarship from teachers and students of history. Every year, in the November issue of The History Teacher, SHE publishes the winning student papers from the Junior and Senior divisions of the National History Day Contest.

Millions of elementary and secondary students have participated in NHD by conducting historical research on topics centered on thoughtful annual themes and presenting their findings through papers, exhibits, performances, documentary films, and websites. The annual competition culminates at the Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest, held at the University of Maryland, College Park. For more information about NHD, visit http://www.nhd.org.
